Hello!  Thanks for coming by my blog!

My name is Terri and I'm a high school biology teacher and the teacher-author and blogger behind the scenes at Strawberry Shake.

I've been teaching science for more than 20 years, most recently in a collaborative classroom setting.  I've had the opportunity to work with several very talented and inspiring special education teachers, and thousands (gasp!) of students.

I like to have an engaging and fun science classroom.  I hope that my students catch my enthusiasm for learning and enjoy their time with me.  I've been involved in the development of science materials for Science Take-Out, and at Teachers Pay Teachers.

I live on Long Island, NY with my husband, two teenage daughters, two dogs, two guinea pigs, and a rabbit.  We travel frequently to northeastern Pennsylvania, where I'm learning about mountain woodland ecosystems every chance I get.  We enjoy hiking, kayaking, fishing and exploring our natural surroundings.  It's been a lot of fun - so different from the Atlantic seashore and pine barrens ecosystems that cover Long Island!
